Bonk (BONK) Tokenomie

Bonk is a community-driven, dog-themed cryptocurrency built on the Solana blockchain. Its tokenomics are designed to support a broad ecosystem of decentralized applications (dApps) including DeFi, gaming, and payments.

Issuance Mechanism

BONK was launched with a maximum initial supply of 100 trillion tokens. Unlike many projects that conduct public or private sales to raise capital, BONK had no such fundraising events. Instead, the token was primarily issued through a massive airdrop to the Solana community to ensure broad distribution from its inception.

The initial distribution of BONK was highly fragmented to reach various sectors of the Solana ecosystem. The allocation breakdown is as follows:

Usage and Incentive Mechanism

BONK serves as a utility token across several platforms within its ecosystem:

• Liquidity Provision: Users can pair BONK with other assets (such as SOL or USDC) in liquidity pools on BonkSwap. LPs earn a pro-rata share of transaction fees.
• Staking Rewards (esBONK): Tokenholders who provide liquidity to incentivized pools receive esBONK rewards. These rewards can be staked on BonkSwap to linearly unlock BONK tokens.
• BonkBot: A Telegram trading bot where 20% of trading fees are used to fund a referral program. Existing users receive a percentage of the fees generated by their referrals (30% in the first month, 20% in the second, and 10% perpetually). Additionally, fees are used to repurchase and burn BONK.
• Gaming and Betting: BONK is used in "Bonk or Bust" (binary options trading) and "BonkBets" (a web3 sportsbook).
• Fitness Gamification: Integrated into "Moonwalk," which provides financial incentives in BONK for completing daily fitness goals.

Locking Mechanism and Unlocking Time

The majority of BONK's supply was made liquid at genesis; however, specific allocations are subject to strict vesting schedules to ensure long-term alignment:

• Early Contributors: This 21% allocation is subject to a three-year linear vesting period that began on January 1, 2023. Approximately 19.16 billion tokens are unlocked daily for this group.
• esBONK Staking: When users earn esBONK through liquidity mining, these tokens must be staked to unlock BONK at a 1:1 ratio linearly over 365 days.
• Genesis Unlocks: Categories such as Solana NFT Projects, DeFi Users, Artists, and Developers were considered fully unlocked at the time of the token's initial distribution (December 25, 2022).
• DAO and Marketing: These funds are managed by the BONK DAO and are released based on community-approved initiatives rather than a fixed time-based schedule.
