Bitcoin is once again losing momentum as its price slips below the $100K level, raising questions about its short-term strength. With BTC failing to break key resistance levels, many investors are shifting their attention toward emerging altcoins with stronger upside potential. One new crypto priced at $0.035 is gaining attention fast after surging 2.5x this year, and demand is rising even more as 2026 approaches.

Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin is currently trading around $91,000, down sharply from recent highs. Its market cap has fallen back below $2T, signaling a weaker period for the world’s largest cryptocurrency. Despite Bitcoin’s dominance, the asset continues to face strong resistance around $94K to $95K, with a deeper ceiling positioned near $100K to $105K.

Even if BTC attempts a recovery, analysts suggest only a modest rebound toward the $95K level, offering limited upside for investors searching for higher-growth opportunities. The sheer size of Bitcoin’s market cap makes fast acceleration difficult, and many traders are now favoring earlier-stage projects where the potential return is significantly higher. With this shift in sentiment, Mutuum Finance (MUTM) has emerged as one of the top crypto contenders for those looking beyond BTC.

Mutuum Finance (MUTM)

Mutuum Finance is creating a decentralized lending protocol designed for both strong yield and safe borrowing. The system supports two lending mechanisms that give users flexibility and security.

The Peer-to-Contract (P2C) model lets users supply assets and receive mtTokens as yield-bearing receipts. These mtTokens grow in value as borrowers repay interest. For example, a user supplying $1,000 worth of ETH receives mtTokens that increase in value as lending activity expands, creating APY tied directly to real borrowing demand.

The Peer-to-Peer (P2P) model allows borrowers to choose variable or stable rates. Variable rates adjust with pool utilization, while stable rates let users lock in predictable repayment costs. Borrowing is controlled through LTV rules. Stable assets often support LTV ratios around 75%, while more volatile assets stay closer to 35% to 40%. If collateral drops too far, automated liquidation helps protect the ecosystem by allowing liquidators to purchase discounted collateral

Strong Funding and Security Verification

Mutuum Finance launched its presale in early 2025 at $0.01. As demand increased, the price rose to $0.035, marking a 2.5x surge during the development phase. This steady rise shows consistent investor confidence, not temporary hype.

The project has raised $19M and attracted 18,200 holders, which is impressive for a token still in its offering stage. Out of the total 4B supply, 1.82B tokens (45.5%) were allocated for the presale. More than 800M tokens have already been purchased.

Phase 6 is now moving toward full allocation, with only a small portion of supply left under $0.04. Each phase has filled faster than the last, creating strong urgency among early buyers. Mutuum Finance completed a CertiK audit, earning a high 90/100 Token Scan score. The lending and borrowing contracts are also under review by Halborn Security, further reinforcing investor trust.

Community interest remains strong thanks to the 24-hour leaderboard, where the top contributor each day earns $500 in MUTM. The project also supports direct card payments, making it easy for new participants to enter without complex onboarding.

Rising Urgency

Mutuum Finance shared on its official X account that V1 of the protocol will launch on the Sepolia Testnet in Q4 2025. This first release includes the liquidity pool, mtTokens, the debt-tracking token and the liquidation bot. ETH and USDT will be supported from the start, allowing real platform interaction before launch.

The team is also developing a native stablecoin that will be minted and burned on demand. The stablecoin will remain pegged to USD and generate interest that supports the Mutuum Treasury. Stablecoins are essential in lending protocols because they power predictable borrowing and deeper liquidity pools.

Mutuum Finance is also building strong pricing protection with Chainlink oracles, fallback oracles and on-chain price feeds. These tools ensure accurate liquidations and safe borrowing during volatile market periods.

With Phase 6 nearing completion and the $0.035 price level approaching its end, urgency is rising across the community. A recent $115K whale allocation pushed the project even closer to a full sellout, signaling strong confidence from larger investors. Whale entries at this stage often speed up allocation and bring more visibility. Once Phase 6 closes, Mutuum Finance will move closer to its $0.06 launch price, and early-stage access under $0.04 will no longer be available.

Bitcoin’s weakness below $100K is prompting more investors to explore early-stage alternatives with stronger upside potential. Mutuum Finance is emerging as one of the most promising new DeFi tokens thanks to its lending mechanics, solid audits, expanding community and fast-moving Phase 6 allocation. With only a small amount of supply left at $0.035 and V1 on the way, this new DeFi crypto is gaining momentum quickly and the window for entering before the next major price stage is closing fast.

Aave DAO to Shut Down 50% of L2s While Doubling Down on GHO

Aave DAO to Shut Down 50% of L2s While Doubling Down on GHO

The post Aave DAO to Shut Down 50% of L2s While Doubling Down on GHO appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Aave DAO is gearing up for a significant overhaul by shutting down over 50% of underperforming L2 instances. It is also restructuring its governance framework and deploying over $100 million to boost GHO. This could be a pivotal moment that propels Aave back to the forefront of on-chain lending or sparks unprecedented controversy within the DeFi community. Sponsored Sponsored ACI Proposes Shutting Down 50% of L2s The “State of the Union” report by the Aave Chan Initiative (ACI) paints a candid picture. After a turbulent period in the DeFi market and internal challenges, Aave (AAVE) now leads in key metrics: TVL, revenue, market share, and borrowing volume. Aave’s annual revenue of $130 million surpasses the combined cash reserves of its competitors. Tokenomics improvements and the AAVE token buyback program have also contributed to the ecosystem’s growth. Aave global metrics. Source: Aave However, the ACI’s report also highlights several pain points. First, regarding the Layer-2 (L2) strategy. While Aave’s L2 strategy was once a key driver of success, it is no longer fit for purpose. Over half of Aave’s instances on L2s and alt-L1s are not economically viable. Based on year-to-date data, over 86.6% of Aave’s revenue comes from the mainnet, indicating that everything else is a side quest. On this basis, ACI proposes closing underperforming networks. The DAO should invest in key networks with significant differentiators. Second, ACI is pushing for a complete overhaul of the “friendly fork” framework, as most have been unimpressive regarding TVL and revenue. In some cases, attackers have exploited them to Aave’s detriment, as seen with Spark. Sponsored Sponsored “The friendly fork model had a good intention but bad execution where the DAO was too friendly towards these forks, allowing the DAO only little upside,” the report states. Third, the instance model, once a smart…
