MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Thursday, June 18, that it has not received any warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Senator Bong Go.

“We confirm that we have not received any official communication from the ICC regarding the alleged issuance of a warrant of arrest against Senator Bong Go. This information was verified with the PCTC (Philippine Center on Transnational Crime) as of 10 am this morning,” DOJ spokesperson Prosecutor Rafael Martinez told reporters.

Another high-level source told Rappler that a warrant has yet to be issued against Go and some police officers.

“It may take more time,” said the source.

This comes after the claim of Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte that a warrant was already issued against Go and some cops.

“A highly reliable source informed me that ICC arrest warrants against Senator Bong Go and two former police officers have already been issued,” said Duterte.

Go and seven other former and present officials, including Senator Bato dela Rosa, had been named by the ICC as former president Rodrigo Duterte’s co-perpetrators in his crimes against humanity case.

According to the ICC, Duterte and his alleged co-perpetrators supposedly shared “a common plan or agreement to ‘neutralize’ alleged criminals in the Philippines (including those perceived or alleged to be associated with drug use, sale or production) through violent crimes, including murder (‘Common Plan’).”

Duterte has been detained at The Hague, Netherlands since his arrest in March 2025, while Dela Rosa is in hiding.

Dela Rosa was out of the public eye since November 2025, or when Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla announced that a warrant was issued against the former Philippine National Police chief. He surfaced in May to back Senator Alan Peter Cayetano’s successful bid for the Senate presidency, but went into hiding again hours after the exchange of gunfire at the upper chamber.

In his affidavit submitted to the ICC, witness and self-confessed Davao Death Squad (DDS) member Arturo Lascañas claimed that Go, who served as Duterte’s aide when the ex-president was Davao City’s mayor, allegedly relayed the “kill orders” from Duterte and gave the DDS payments after tasks were completed.
