Falcon Energy Materials plc (TSX-V: FLCN, OTCQB: FLCNF) announced the official opening of its pilot plant near Casablanca, Morocco, a facility designed to produce qualification-scale samples of coated spheronized purified graphite (CSPG) for the global battery industry. This milestone moves the company closer to establishing a commercial-scale anode facility with a planned capacity of 25,000 tonnes per annum (tpa).

The pilot plant, which was relocated and installed following full assembly and pre-commissioning, is now undergoing commissioning. It will produce CSPG samples for potential customers during the summer of 2026, supporting previously announced sample qualification programs. The facility also aims to generate operating data, provide workforce training, and establish process design criteria critical for the proposed commercial anode plant.

Matthieu Bos, President & CEO of Falcon, stated, ‘The opening of our Pilot Plant in Morocco is a defining milestone for Falcon. It marks our transition from planning and procurement to operational execution and advances our goal of building a competitive battery anode supply chain outside of China.’

This development is significant for the battery supply chain, as most graphite processing currently occurs in China. The pilot plant represents the first natural graphite CSPG pilot facility in Morocco, positioning Falcon to offer an alternative source of anode material for electric vehicle and energy storage manufacturers. The company sources premium natural graphite feedstock from Africa and continues to test alternative high-quality sources to ensure a scalable, reliable supply.

Beyond producing samples, the pilot plant serves as a training platform for operators, with procedures expected to be transferable to the commercial-scale anode plant. This could support a more efficient ramp-up of future operations. The facility also allows Falcon to optimize production processes and tailor materials to customer specifications, which is crucial for qualifying with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and battery producers.

Falcon Energy Materials is a dedicated chemical refiner of natural graphite concentrate, aiming to become the premier provider of natural CSPG. The company is strategically partnered with leading technology firms and Tier One Moroccan partners, providing access to advanced technological expertise, high-quality raw materials, and a prime geographical location. These factors are expected to enable consistent, high-quality supply to global markets.

The company’s shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol FLCN and on the OTCQB under FLCNF. Additional information is available on Falcon’s website at www.falconem.net.

Forward-looking statements in this release involve risks and uncertainties. Key assumptions include that the pilot plant will operate as planned, produce suitable samples, and generate necessary data for the commercial plant. Risks include potential financing, supply chain, and operational challenges. Further details are available in the company’s filings on www.sedarplus.ca.
