Rego-Brix components are foldable and nestable, allowing for efficient transportation from Earth. Once on the moon, they can be filled with lunar regolith — the loose soil and rock covering the lunar surface — to create protective barriers around living quarters. This approach significantly reduces the need to launch heavy shielding materials from Earth, cutting costs and logistical challenges for lunar missions.

The company holds patents related to the Rego-Brix concept and has stated its intention to make the technology available on a royalty-free basis, potentially accelerating its adoption by space agencies and private companies. BOXABL is currently completing its merger with FG Merger II Corp. (NASDAQ: FGMC), a special purpose acquisition company. The announcement comes as space agencies and private companies ramp up efforts to establish permanent bases on the moon.
