  • Brazilian authorities say the alleged group moved more than R$1.6 billion through cryptoassets and cash transport.
  • Police carried out 45 search and seizure warrants and 39 temporary arrest warrants across eight states & the Federal District.
  • Local reporting indicates the operation also reached Bauru & targeted public figures and influencers tied to the suspected laundering chain.

Brazilian authorities have opened one of the country’s biggest crypto-linked financial crime cases after accusing a network of moving more than R$1.6 billion through laundering schemes in Brazil and abroad.

Brazil’s Federal Police, backed by Sao Paulo’s Military Police, launched Operation Narco Fluxo on Wednesday to dismantle an alleged criminal group accused of laundering money through cryptoassets, cash logistics, and high-value financial transactions. Investigators say the network used a structured system to conceal and disguise illicit funds while moving money inside Brazil and across borders.

Authorities say the group’s financial activity exceeded R$1.6 billion, placing the case among the largest recent crypto-linked laundering probes in the country. The operation follows earlier investigations that had already identified the group’s alleged role in broader capital laundering schemes.

Police Launch Raids Across Brazil

More than 200 federal officers executed 45 search-and-seizure warrants and 39 temporary arrest warrants issued by the 5th Federal Court in Santos, Sao Paulo. The raids reached addresses in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Pernambuco, Espírito Santo, Maranhão, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Goiás, and the Federal District.

Moreover, the governments introduced asset-freezing sanctions, such as property confiscations and company bans. Investigators would desire to shut down the alleged network at the earliest and retain assets that could be refunded in the event of any conviction or compensation claims in the event of a case.

The police also took cars, money, paperwork, and computer equipment during the operation. Authorities expect those materials to support the next phase of the investigation as they examine how the group allegedly moved and disguised funds.

Investigators Focus on Crypto and Cash Movement

Police say the network used several methods to hide the origin and destination of funds. The so-called structure was related to high-value money operations, physical cash transfers, and cryptoasset transfers associated with Brazilian and foreign activity.

The group also supposedly used a combination of both traditional cash flow and digital asset transactions, which is more difficult to track within a short period of time, instead of depending on a single channel. Officials believe that the system aided in covering up the amount and the location of the money

Suspects may face charges tied to criminal association, money laundering, and illegal movement of funds abroad. Those charges reflect the broad structure of the case, which goes beyond simple crypto transfers and into organized financial concealment.

Local Reports Add Bauru and Influencer Angle

Local reporting says the operation also included a search warrant in Bauru, expanding the picture beyond the main federal statement. According to the same reporting, investigators are scrutinizing the role of influencers and other figures who are in the public eye to receive, move, or disguise money.

Nonetheless, the essence is financial. The government is examining the possibility of the network using accounts, cash logistics, and crypto activities to launder money and introduce it in a better form.
