'Traitor!' MAGA turns on Boebert as she attends Opening Day with Dem gov
MAGA fans unleashed a torrent of backlash Friday night when firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) shared a photo of herself catching Opening Day at Coors Field with Democratic Gov. Jared Polis.
Both Polis and Boebert shared a photo of themselves at the game decked out in purple, white and black Rockies attire.
"The @rockies and baseball bring people together! Go Rockies! W @laurenboeber," wrote a cheery Polis on X.
"Opening day in Colorado! Play ball and Free Tina!" a smiling Boebert wrote on X, referencing a former Mesa County clerk and Republican politician who became nationally known for her role in a 2021 election-security breach tied to efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results. Peters was convicted in state court and sentenced to nine years in prison. President Donald Trump has repeatedly attacked Polis for not granting her clemency.
The show of bipartisanship did not go over well with MAGA.
A user named Jay shot back, "So you're a Democrat now" Boebert was forced to clarify, "Never."
The user GenX Tim wrote, "i question your morals hanging out with the king of colorado loose bowel energy."
The user Dmamoosh wrote on X, Ugg Lauren.. come on. We are not into the working with each other crap. This guy has destroyed our state."
The user Donovan wrote on X, "Why are you hanging out with the governor who won't release Tina Peters? The fact he's a Democrat is no big deal... It's the fact he has an innocent women in jail."
The user JWood wrote on X, " I say we charge Tina with more crimes and keep her ass locked up longer. Traitor!"
