PowerHouse Automotive Group announced on July 2 the acquisition of Griffin Chevrolet of Sylvester, marking its fifth dealership, its first Chevrolet franchise, and the creation of a new multi-brand campus in Southwest Georgia. The transaction closed on July 1, 2026.

Located at 1006 W. Franklin St. in Sylvester, Griffin Chevrolet sits adjacent to PowerHouse’s Ford Sylvester dealership at 1002 W. Franklin St. This side-by-side placement creates PowerHouse’s first true automotive campus, offering customers access to Ford and Chevrolet vehicle lineups, sales, and services at a single location.

CEO Fernando Arellano Geddes highlighted the significance of the acquisition, stating, “July 1 marks a major milestone for PowerHouse. Arellano Geddes brings over two decades of automotive retail leadership, including extensive experience managing General Motors dealerships. The expansion increases PowerHouse’s presence in Sylvester, where the company has operated the Ford Sylvester dealership since acquiring the Sunbelt Ford group in December 2025. PowerHouse now operates five dealerships in Southwest Georgia: Ford Albany, Ford Americus, Ford Cordele, Ford Sylvester, and the newly acquired Chevrolet Sylvester, adding its first non-Ford brand to its portfolio.

PowerHouse plans to retain the Griffin Chevrolet team and integrate the location into its existing operational and community programs, including workforce development initiatives and support for the region’s military families. The automotive complex model in Sylvester is expected to serve as a blueprint for future multi-brand growth.
