KUALA LUMPUR: Harimau Malaya have climbed to 136th place in the latest Fifa world rankings.
The national football team collected 1,086.22 points, moving up two places from their previous position of 138th.
The rise was driven by results involving other teams, including India and Latvia, even though Malaysia did not play during the latest international window.
Thailand remain Southeast Asia’s top-ranked team at 94th, ahead of Vietnam (99th), Indonesia (118th), the Philippines (135th), and Singapore (148th).
Japan continue to lead Asia as the highest-ranked team, placed 18th in the world, followed by Iran at 20th and South Korea at 25th.
