Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) engaged in a heated debate with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Friday over President Donald Trump's Iran policy compared to Former President Barack Obama's nuclear diplomacy.
Bartiromo falsely claimed President Barrack Obama "sent Iran money," which Khanna corrected, explaining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action unfroze Iranian assets — their own money — in exchange for nuclear limits and international monitoring.

Bartiromo inaccurately claimed the deal lacked nuclear weapons commitments, despite the agreement explicitly listed such provisions.
Khanna cited the concrete consequences of Trump's withdrawal from the deal: 60 percent enriched uranium levels rising from near zero, 13 American service members killed, increased gas and food prices, and declining Strait of Hormuz security. He noted 70 percent of Americans oppose the war, with even Republicans defecting.
Bartiromo then repeatedly interrupted Khanna and dismissed public opposition to the conflict, insisting concerns about nuclear threats supersede other considerations.
