RTGS.global and BCRemit have today announced a strategic partnership to enhance cross-border payment capabilities and expand access to fast, reliable remittance services worldwide.

The partnership brings together RTGS.global’s next-generation cross-border payment infrastructure with BCRemit’s established expertise in serving Filipino communities around the world. Together, the two organisations aim to build on the ability to deliver faster, more efficient and scalable payment solutions for consumers and businesses.

Entering its tenth year of business in 2026, BCRemit has built its reputation as a trusted remittance provider, helping customers send money from one country to another quickly and securely. Through this partnership, the company is extending its capabilities beyond its traditional retail focus, opening its platform to support banks, payment providers and other financial institutions.

“This partnership marks an important step in our evolution,” said Gio Calma, Co-Founder and Director of BCRemit. “Our mission is rooted in supporting communities around the world to make payments efficiently and securely, we are now expanding our reach by making our services available to businesses and other financial institutions. Working with RTGS.global enables us to scale that vision and unlock new opportunities for growth.”

RTGS.global’s platform connects financial institutions through a single integration, enabling real-time cross-border payments, FX exchange and seamless interoperability across markets. By joining the network, BCRemit will be able to further enhance its service delivery while also contributing to a broader ecosystem of global payment participants.

“Cross-border payments continue to be held back by fragmented systems and inefficiencies,” said Felipe Hillard, Chief Commercial Officer at RTGS.global. “Partnering with BCRemit brings together strong technical infrastructure with a clear, purpose-led use case. It’s about combining innovation with real-world impact to improve how money moves across borders.”

The partnership builds on a period of significant growth for BCRemit, which has expanded its licensed operations across the UK, Europe, Canada and the Philippines, and operates in the United States through a partner network. Looking ahead, BCRemit sees B2B services as a key driver of future revenue, with the RTGS.global partnership representing an important milestone in unlocking that opportunity.

BCRemit remains committed to its core mission of supporting global workers and their families by enabling faster and more reliable transfers. The partnership helps ensure customers can continue to send money home with confidence, which is an essential lifeline for many communities.

Both organisations will work together to expand the partnership in the coming months, with a focus on scaling services across new markets and delivering enhanced payment experiences for customers and partners alike.

Aave DAO to Shut Down 50% of L2s While Doubling Down on GHO

The post Aave DAO to Shut Down 50% of L2s While Doubling Down on GHO appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Aave DAO is gearing up for a significant overhaul by shutting down over 50% of underperforming L2 instances. It is also restructuring its governance framework and deploying over $100 million to boost GHO. This could be a pivotal moment that propels Aave back to the forefront of on-chain lending or sparks unprecedented controversy within the DeFi community. Sponsored Sponsored ACI Proposes Shutting Down 50% of L2s The “State of the Union” report by the Aave Chan Initiative (ACI) paints a candid picture. After a turbulent period in the DeFi market and internal challenges, Aave (AAVE) now leads in key metrics: TVL, revenue, market share, and borrowing volume. Aave’s annual revenue of $130 million surpasses the combined cash reserves of its competitors. Tokenomics improvements and the AAVE token buyback program have also contributed to the ecosystem’s growth. Aave global metrics. Source: Aave However, the ACI’s report also highlights several pain points. First, regarding the Layer-2 (L2) strategy. While Aave’s L2 strategy was once a key driver of success, it is no longer fit for purpose. Over half of Aave’s instances on L2s and alt-L1s are not economically viable. Based on year-to-date data, over 86.6% of Aave’s revenue comes from the mainnet, indicating that everything else is a side quest. On this basis, ACI proposes closing underperforming networks. The DAO should invest in key networks with significant differentiators. Second, ACI is pushing for a complete overhaul of the “friendly fork” framework, as most have been unimpressive regarding TVL and revenue. In some cases, attackers have exploited them to Aave’s detriment, as seen with Spark. Sponsored Sponsored “The friendly fork model had a good intention but bad execution where the DAO was too friendly towards these forks, allowing the DAO only little upside,” the report states. Third, the instance model, once a smart…
