The AI supply chain produced six items on October 26, spread across four of the six layers. Broadcom (Ticker: AVGO) brought in three banks and Blackstone (Ticker: BX) to create a new special purpose vehicle that buys Broadcom XPU accelerators and networking products and leases them to Anthropic, a $63.0B structure. The same day Meta (Ticker: META) launched a $35.0B equity raise and Anthropic filed its S-1. Counted deal value this issue is $98.0B, while the annual capex left out of that figure is $142.5B.

Today's Takeaway
None of the three priced deals today spent the buyer's own cash: Broadcom's $63.0B runs through a vehicle funded by banks and Blackstone, Meta's $35.0B runs through the equity market, and Anthropic is still at the filing stage. Counted deal value this issue is $98.0B with another $142.5B excluded, that excluded side being annual capex at Meta and Amkor, 45% larger than every deal added together. Broadcom's vehicle does not deliver until 2027 and Meta's $35.0B is not priced yet. Layer 4 Memory and Layer 6 Power are both at zero this issue, not because the industry stood still but because neither layer produced a company disclosure we could date to an original source that day.
How to use this next time: when a large financing lands, ask who provides the money and where the risk ends up. Here the chip seller arranged the buyer's financing and took on the residual value, which turns customer credit risk into its own asset risk. Separating the funder from the risk holder lets you tell genuine demand strength apart from a change in where the funding sits.
